TEMPORARY POLICY CHANGES

PICK UP AND DROP OFF
  • Connection Kids rooms will open 20 minutes before service.
  • We’re asking that only one parent pick up and drop off their children to limit the number of people in the Connection Kids building.

CHECK IN
  • Parents will be asked to use hand sanitizer before and after touching the iPads to check in.
  • Please do not allow your kids to touch the iPads themselves.
  • iPads will be sanitized frequently by Connection Kids Team Members.

SOCIAL DISTANCING STRATEGIES
All of our Connection Kids areas will follow social distancing strategies, including:
  • Seats in the Elementary Room will be spaced six feet apart.
  • Removal of large games to limit high-touch surfaces.
  • Additional Toddler and Pre-K Rooms will be opened to permit smaller class size.

MASKS
Per the new guidelines put forward by the state, we are asking all parents and children in Pre-K, and above, to wear masks upon exiting their vehicle. Masks must be worn when moving through both buildings.
  • Elementary Room: We will ask kids to do their best to keep their masks on at their seats, with the exception of eating their snack.
  • Pre-K Rooms: Our Pre-K Team Members will encourage kids to keep their mask on.
  • Toddlers and Children in the Nursery will not be required to wear masks.
  • Team members will wear masks at all times in the Connection Kids building.

CLEANING
Our Connection Kids Teams will comply with recommended guidelines for cleaning rooms. This will include, but is not limited to:
  • Cleaning/disinfecting all toys and ensuring children receive untouched toys at the start of each service.
  • Wiping down all high-touch surfaces
  • Any cloth toys and toys that cannot easily be cleaned have been removed from the rooms.

We ask that you help us in the following areas:
  • Children will not be permitted to bring toys from home.
  • For children in the nursery, we ask that parents bring extra changes of clothes, to keep children clean from bodily fluids. If a child needs to be changed due to spitting up or drool and we do not have a change of clothes, the parent will be contacted.

ILLNESS
  • Children must be free of fever, persistent cough, vomiting, diarrhea and colored mucus for 24 hours before attending. If a child becomes ill during service, the parent will be contacted.
  • If a child begins to show symptoms of illness during service, we will contact the parent for permission to take the child’s temperature.
    • Temperature will be taken with a no-touch thermometer
    • Temperature will be taken by our Medical Support Team Member
    • Temperature will be taken, even if the parent indicates it most likely is allergies
  • If the temperature is less than 100.4 degrees, the child may remain in the classroom for the remainder of service.

INCLUSION MINISTRY
During this season, our inclusion ministry will be available during our 11:00am service for any child that may need it.

ADULTS IN CLASSROOMS
  • If your child is having a rough time in his or her classroom and you are contacted by a Connection Kids Team Member, we will ask you to try calming your child outside of the classroom.
  • No adults other than team members will be permitted in Connection Kids classrooms.

We know that some of our Connection Kids may be more anxious than normal with the changes in place. Our teams have been trained to best care for each child during this time. We also understand that some of our kids may not be able to attend in-person services for this season. Our Elementary services will be available live at 9:00am and 11:00am for those joining us online. Whether you join us in person or online, we want you to know you are a valuable part of our community!
