KIDS BREAKAWAY is a weekend winter retreat. This year we are inviting 6th Grade Kids to attend this event. This weekend is full of fun and exciting activities, opportunities to build life-long friendships, and creative life-changing services.
Kids Breakaway FAQ
What is Breakaway?
Breakaway is hosted by the PennDel Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God and is held at the Bongiorno Conference Center in Carlisle, PA. The goal for the weekend is to empower kids to PRAY • GIVE • GO with COMPASSION to change their world.
Who can go?
Anyone who is in 6th Grade is invited to attend with our group.
Who is with my child?
Our own leaders from Connection Church will serve as camp counselors.
How much does it cost?
The early registration price is $155.00 until February 3rd. After February 3rd, the price goes up to $180.00.

What to expect during Breakaway
- No news is good news! Visits and phone calls are discouraged as they often contribute to homesickness. If you don't hear from us, your child is happy and healthy!
- You are welcome to put notes in your child's bag to open each day. Pictures will be posted daily to an album on the Connection Kids Facebook page.
- There will be a BGMC offering during one of the services. If you would like your child to participate in this, please include extra spending money and let your child know what it is for.

Preparing for Breakaway
What to bring:
- Bedding (pillow, sleeping bag or sheets, blanket)
- Refillable water bottle
- Bible
- Toiletries/personal items
- Towels & washcloths
- Appropriate winter attire: coats, hats, gloves
- Sneakers and boots
- Spending money for CampMart. (Most items cost between $1.50-$3.00. There are a few non-food souvenirs that cost a little more: hats, t-shirts, & BGMC games $10-$15)
- Medications (Special Note: All prescription medication MUST be in the original packaging/bottle that identifies the prescribing physician, the name of the medication, and the dosage and frequency. The camp nurse will not dispense prescription medicine without the packaging.)
- Cell phones, electronic devices/gaming systems, water guns, or prank items. These are not allowed at the camp and are required to be confiscated until the end of camp.
Arrival and Departure
- Friday, February 28th - Departure drop off your child at the church between 2:15-2:30.
- Sunday, March 2nd - Return to church and arrive around 2:15pm.
